Get together MES Mates

So we did plan a annual get together, but could not hold it due to some flimsy reason. It appears that the enthu is on the decline.

Ode to friendship

 Have you by me
     Not for today
        When blood is hot
          Sweat is raw
            Flesh is tender

  Have you by me
     Not for today
       When relations of
          Blood, sweat, flesh
            Are herded around me

   Have you by me
      For that days to come
        When blood is thick
           Sweat is rocky
             Flesh is saggy

   Have you by me today
      For that day
       When you send me away
Not bound by blood, sweat, flesh
But only by the warming glow
Of you and your love for me.

music

Music can control a much larger part of your life than most people would like to believe. Music can affect us in ways in which we're not even aware of, and for this reason, music is simply amazing.
It has been proven that certain types of music can evoke sadness, while others can give you an excitement. Music is used in millions of places for this reason.
Pop, lighter rock, hard rock and most dance music tends to be a very uplifting type of music. If you're ever looking for a booster, listen to some of this music! I actually enjoy listening to this music every day , thanks to my rocker raghu (my son). Music is an important and extremely useful tool in the way we learn and to deny its power is a waste of a truly wonderful resource. Music is a power too great for humans to comprehend at this point but through further study humans can learn how to better harness its power to use it to its full potential.

Every man is said to have his peculiar ambition. Ambition can creep as well as soar. When ambition ends, happiness begins.

Meeting with Uttam Kumar

You will remember Uttam Kumar, our MES Mate of B.com 1978.  Uttam currently lives in Sydney, Australia. During his recent visit to India, we five of us (uttam +w, Sudi+w&son, Sankarnarayan, Manjunath, self)had a nice dinner at the Kamat Yatri nivas.

No doubt while you were at MES, despite the blood oaths you swore at the time, you will have completely lost touch with all your class  friends and only just barely remember their insulting nicknames.
At the first meeting with my MES friends last year, I was confused as to what should i talk. Now I have got a stragegy as follows.......Unless they know that you know what they know that you don't know that they know what you know about why they know about when they knew who they knew. I'm sure that won't come up.

So lie.

Does adversity make us stronger

Experience  suggests that resilience is stronger in peoploe who have faced adversity in the past as it does with who they are — their personality, their genes, for example — or what they’re facing now.

By Adversity is what i  mean is the number of life blows a person has taken that may affect his or her mental toughness more than any other factor.
Adversity gives us strength to face bad times  ie one  who has experienced setbacks in life.

Honestly, if you wish to to know the art of living,  make use of suffering.

When one door closes another door opens; but we so often look so long and so regretfully upon the closed door, that we do not see the ones which open for us.  ~Alexander Graham Bell

Never let the future disturb you.  You will meet it, if you have to, with the same weapons of reason which today arm you against the present.  ~Marcus Aurelius Antoninus
