You will remember Uttam Kumar, our MES Mate of B.com 1978. Uttam currently lives in Sydney, Australia. During his recent visit to India, we five of us (uttam +w, Sudi+w&son, Sankarnarayan, Manjunath, self)had a nice dinner at the Kamat Yatri nivas.
No doubt while you were at MES, despite the blood oaths you swore at the time, you will have completely lost touch with all your class friends and only just barely remember their insulting nicknames.
At the first meeting with my MES friends last year, I was confused as to what should i talk. Now I have got a stragegy as follows.......Unless they know that you know what they know that you don't know that they know what you know about why they know about when they knew who they knew. I'm sure that won't come up.
So lie.

Does adversity make us stronger
Experience suggests that resilience is stronger in peoploe who have faced adversity in the past as it does with who they are — their personality, their genes, for example — or what they’re facing now.
By Adversity is what i mean is the number of life blows a person has taken that may affect his or her mental toughness more than any other factor.
Adversity gives us strength to face bad times ie one who has experienced setbacks in life.
Honestly, if you wish to to know the art of living, make use of suffering.
When one door closes another door opens; but we so often look so long and so regretfully upon the closed door, that we do not see the ones which open for us. ~Alexander Graham Bell

Never let the future disturb you. You will meet it, if you have to, with the same weapons of reason which today arm you against the present. ~Marcus Aurelius Antoninus

MES Mates
It was in 1978 that we completed our degree from MES and after thirty two long years, we met again in November 2009. It was a nice feeling meeting your mates, and seeing them all doing well.I think we were a fortunate lot, who were more practical and firm footed . These qualities seems to have seen us all through to a stable life.
An optimist view of everyday living
I am a music fan. When I hear good music , I see analogies to life in every musical performance and watch them in fascination, wondering about the backgrounds of the musician and players and what makes one a superstar when another, with equal and often greater physical ability, sits on the bench or in the audience.
In sports, the body wears down just when the mind is at its peak in the sport. Makes you wonder whether youth is wasted on the wrong people!
But in most areas of life, every day can be looked at as a learning opportunity. As one grows in age and older, maybe you won't have the energy in a few years that you have today, but you can still take advantage of today knowing that you'll still be able to enjoy the benefits of your experience... unlike an athlete who's considered old at 35 in their field.
Each stage of your life has doors and windows and even walls... that can be knocked down if necessary.
I believe you should live today as if it's your last, I believe there is always time to change and live as if it’s your last day and give it all you have in you and make sure your every day counts.
